Work that Style

Some style studies of Sienna, and some lighting experiments.

I'm looking for something that can be easily animated as well as look good in a comic page.

I think this is fairly successful...

Prototype page!

Test comic page for Skybound. A lot wrong with this.

Not happy with the ink work. Need to work on the design of the speech bubbles. Background color work is bland etc etc... It's also not 100% finished (last two panels are missing speech and some linework, but meh).

But fortunately, the point of this was to iron out those things. Very informative, indeed.

I'll be doing another soon. Changing style, exploring different color methods, etc.

Put together sienna's "reference" marionette.... Which is just a fancy way of saying "ugly 3D-you're-cheating" model. Yes, I am using 3D as a tool for spatial reference and motion. Why? Because I'm DAMN horrible at staying on model. I haven't the patience for it. This helps tremendously. And allows me the freedom of artistic expression that would be difficult and costly to emulate in 3D at the same time.
